Hard to believe, but this – one of the original Christmas pop songs – also never actually made number one, being beaten to the top spot by chart rivals Slade. That said, 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' is still a classic track with universal appeal, and for good reason. Not only is the song incredibly catchy, but its title alone evokes the dream of every kid across the country – who hasn’t uttered those words at some point during their childhood?! Of course, it also helps that Birmingham glam rockers Wizzard laid on an irresistible spread; punchy brass, Beach Boys-esque vocal melodies and, of course, the iconic sounds of ‘The Suedettes’, a local school choir singing in an endearing Brummy accent! Overplayed, certainly, but that won't stop this track being an unstoppable force on the dance-floor this Christmas. After all, it is by a band called Wizzard – do not underestimate its power.
