In 1957 Marc Chavannes and Alfred Fielding stuck two shower curtains together in an attempt to invent a new textured wallpaper. Despite their best efforts, they couldn’t sell it, even after trying to market their product as a lining for greenhouses. Two years later they attempted another pivot and approached a fairly small but soon to be quite important company, IBM. Their invention, they argued, would keep delicate IT equipment safe in transit and the product we all know and love as bubble wrap was born.

Music has always been a part of my life and I have no plans to change that. It’s a journey that has taken me from a roller-skating rink in Coventry, through to standing in the middle of a football pitch, via the Czech Republic, Mastermix DJ, and Butlin’s, with many dodgy looking venues along the way.

Which celebrity death affected you the most? I see this question tweeted often and I never hesitate in replying. For me, there’s only one answer: Prince. There isn’t even a close second. I will never forget the sad day that he passed. And although I’ve seen him live 37 times, it still depresses me that I’ll never have that chance again.

Who hasn’t been affected by the cost of living crisis? At the risk of sounding like anything but a little ray of sunshine, mortgages and rents have been going through the roof, along with energy, food, fuel and pretty much everything else you need to purchase just to exist. We all know this – and nobody wants to be reminded of prices going up – but we are now at the stage where everything costs more, except us, perhaps.

The role of mobile DJ can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions. When the stars align, we have the best job in the world. However, our job does bring its fair share of stress. I’d be surprised if any DJ, anywhere, told me they’ve never felt anxious at work during any point of their career.

In the March/April (118) issue of Pro Mobile, I wrote an article called 'The Beginners Guide to Being a Wedding DJ'.

This gave you an insight into weddings and how there are subtle differences between DJs who do weddings and outright wedding DJs.
