Pioneer DJ Expands DDJ Range With Controller Ideal For Mobile DJs
The latest addition to Pioneer DJ’s line-up of DJ software controllers, the DDJ-800, is aimed squarely at the mobile DJ market. Inheriting the layout design of the 4-channel DDJ-1000, which has proved popular with many professional mobile DJs, the new DDJ-800 is a 2-channel model which is smaller, lighter and more affordable than its bigger brother.
A dedicated controller for Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox dj software, the DDJ-800 is designed to help DJs get the most from the new features added to rekordbox version 5.5.0 which was released today (Tuesday 16th April 2019). The DDJ-800 is the first piece of hardware compatible with the brand-new Feedback Reducer feature in rekordbox dj, which automatically lessens the ‘howling’ sound of microphone feedback. The controller also features Color On Jog Display, giving users all the information they need for professional performances right in the centre of each jog wheel.
All the buttons, knobs, and faders on the controller are arranged and used in the same way as those on Pioneer DJ’s flagship CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2 setup. The controller can also be customised to a DJ’s preferred performance style using the Feeling Adjust feature which alters the resistance on the jog wheels. Users can also spice up their sets with the popular Sound Color FX and Beat FX inherited from Pioneer DJ’s DJM mixer series. These are easy to use as BPM and the name of the selected FX can be easily referenced without looking at the connected PC/Mac thanks to the dedicated Beat FX display, making it easy to use the FX whenever inspiration strikes.
The DDJ-800 will be available soon from Pioneer DJ dealers at an MSRP of £779 including VAT. It comes with a bundled license key for rekordbox dj, worth £120. To help DJs keep their DDJ-800 safe from bumps and scrapes on the road, Pioneer is also offering a dedicated case, the DJC-800 BAG, which will be available from dealers at a MSRP of £109. The DJ controller fits snugly into the custom-designed protective bag which features an EVA Durashock moulded body, impact-resistant egg-foam, black ballistic polyester, and a soft, fleeced lining.
