Pioneer DJ has today (7th September 2017) announced upgrades to two of its products created for use with the Serato DJ software. The new DDJ-SR2 controller and DJM-S3 mixer are both designed to help DJs get the most from using the Serato software, including dedicated controls for recently introduced new features.
The new 2-channel DDJ-SR2 controller builds on the success of Pioneer DJ’s popular DDJ-SR unit. It features new dedicated controls for the latest features in Serato DJ, including the Pitch 'n Time DJ Expansion Pack, with Key Shift, Key Sync and Pitch Play controls. The lightweight and portable DDJ-SR2 is also Serato DVS Upgrade Ready (licence available separately).
The DDJ-SR2 inherits design traits and features from Pioneer DJ’s professional DJ gear range, including multi-coloured Performance Pads that give instant feedback on pad modes and playing statuses. To help DJs get the most out of the controller, the Serato DJ Enabled DDJ-SR2 also comes bundled with the Pitch ‘n Time DJ Expansion Pack.
Pioneer DJ has also announced the release of a 2-channel mixer that offers a new entry point to the brand’s Serato-specified DJM series: the DJM-S3. The DJM-S3 is Serato DJ and DVS Enabled thanks to its built-in sound card inherited from the professional DJM-S9, so users can plug it into their PC/Mac and start using it with Serato DJ straight out of the box.
With its scratch-friendly layout, the DJM-S3 is built to withstand intense performances and the highly durable Magvel crossfader, inherited from the DJM-900NXS2, provides a smooth, accurate response. The mixer is Serato DVS Enabled, so DJs can control digital tracks via turntables using the Serato Control Vinyl if they wish (available separately).
The DDJ-SR2 and DJM-S3 will both be available later this month with MSRPs of £629 and £499, respectively.
