The release’s opening section, ‘Pop Party’, features all the latest chart hits, including poptastic tracks from the likes of Little Mix, OMI and Jason Derulo. Little Mix’s ‘Black Magic’ opens proceedings, with addictive vocals hooks and floor-filling beats that will draw younger members of audience to the floor. This is followed by OMI’s bouncy summer hit ‘Cheerleader’ – the ideal cure for the winter blues this January – and the club-ready beats of Jason Derulo’s ‘Want To Want Me’. Seeing out the section, Lunchmoney Lewis and Flo Rida deliver two different but equally feel-good hits – the perfect end to the pop party!
‘Chart Anthems: Remixed’ does what it says on the tin, offering up five remixes of chart-topping tracks, from artists as varied as Ellie Golding and WSTRN. Deep, UKG-tinged remix of Olly Murs’ ‘Kiss Me’, Jax Jones energized piano house-style version of Ellie Golding’s ‘On My Mind’, and Kokiri’s bass-heavy remix of IN2 by WSTRN. Also ‘Love Me Like You’ (7th Heaven Remix) by Little Mix and ‘Sax’ (Steve Smart Remix) by Fleur East.
The third section on Disc 1, ‘Electro Swingers’, offers up remixes of classics like ‘Pump Up The Jam’ and ‘No Diggity’, as well as two tracks by Swing Republic (‘Crazy In Love’ and ‘Sing It Back’), all of which is embellished by on-point samples, including ‘Bom Bom’, ‘In The Mood’, ‘Sunny Side Of The Street’ and ‘FatMan’ by Jesse Rose.
Featuring seven funky floor-fillers, each of which is guaranteed to get guests to strut their stuff, ‘Uptown Funked pt.4’ incorporates old-school hip hop from Bell Biv DeVoie and classic dance-floor favourites from MJ, Janet Jackson and Boyz II Men. Elsewhere, we get the new jack swing of Bobby Brown’s signature track ‘My Prerogative’ and R Kelly’s ‘She’s Got That Vibe’, while ‘My Name Is Prince’ brings funky basslines and hip-hop infused fun.
Closing Disc 1, a unique mix featuring Galantis, Lovefreekz and Bettye Swann offers up an explosive combination of electro-inflected beats, feel-good vocals and soaring strings, with the tracks ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’, ‘Shine’ and ‘Kiss My Love Goodbye’.
Ideal for turning the party vibe up a notch, disc two opens with part 16 of the Funhouse Party Megamix, packing in a series of floor-filling tracks from the likes of Technotronic, Nightcrawlers and Ce Ce Peniston, as well as widely revered classics such as Faithless ‘Insomnia’, ‘Ride On Time’ by Black Box, and Bizarre Inc’s ‘I’m Gonna Get You’ featuring the legendary voice of Angie Brown.
Following the classic dance vibes of the previous section, ‘Played In Full: EDM Floorfillers’ offers something a little modern, as six banging EDM tunes bring big beats and deep bass to the dance-floor! Staples of the genre including Martin Garrix’s ‘Animals’ and Aviici’s summer hit ‘Hey Brother’ will keep those younger audiences happy, sitting nicely alongside the exceptional vocals of Sia on David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’.
The third part of disc two kicks off with Janet Jackson’s eighties favourite ‘What Have You Done For Me Lately’ and ends with her brother’s bona fide dance-floor classic ‘Billie Jean’. In between, we get a melisma of classics from one of pop music’s finest eras: ‘Relax’, ‘Into The Groove’, ‘Don’t You Want Me’, Cameo’s ‘Word Up’, ‘Celebration’… the list just goes on! The perfect mashup of magical pop songs, ‘Mashed Hits: The 80s’ is guaranteed to fill the floor at just about any event…
The sound of two widely loved new artists collide to produce something incredible in the penultimate section of Issue 355 disc 2: vocal powerhouse Jess Glynne and classical-loving dance act Clean Bandit. Kicking off with the pair’s original chart-topping collaboration, ‘Rather Be’, this section is bound to draw guests of all ages onto the dance-floor, with euphoric lyrics and irresistible beats. Glynne’s solo hits like ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ and ‘Hold My Hand’ work with other successful joint efforts, such as ‘Real Love’, for a high-energy, feel-good mix.
The unmistakably sassy voice of Fleur East closes Issue 355, as punchy saxophone lines and half-rapped vocals combine on an ‘Extended Floorfiller’ version of the singer’s chart-smashing track ‘Sax’. Big, brash and beat-heavy – the perfect way to end the party!
The double-disc Issue 355 is available now from Mastermix, priced at £18.38 and available on CD or digital download. Individual mixes can also be purchased separately.
