8 HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 20TH LAS VEGAS DJ SHOW

From Monday the 14th to Thursday the 17th of March hundreds of mobile DJs from across America, and indeed the world, met together in Las Vegas for the 20th annual Mobile Beat DJ show. The largest event in the world dedicated completely to mobile DJs, Mobile Beat returned this year to the home of many of its earlier shows, The Tropicana Hotel, which has recently undergone a complete renovation. Located right in the heart of the famous Las Vegas Strip the Tropicana proved to be the perfect location for DJs to learn, network, socialize and enjoy everything that Las Vegas has to offer. For the many DJs who weren’t fortunate enough to be able to make the trip out to Vegas we’ve put together 8 highlights of the show to give a flavour of what Mobile Beat 2016 had to offer...

‘Marketing the DJ Experience’ by Jon Taffer

Coming at lunch time on Wednesday, the keynote speaker of Mobile Beat 2016 was Jon Taffer of the popular US TV series ‘Bar Rescue’. Every presentation at the conference was well attended, but Jon’s session was literally standing room only. During a passionate and information-packed session – and in his trademark no-holds-barred style – Jon offered ideas and advice for DJs drawn from his long career in the hospitality industry. As Jon explained “I may not be a DJ, but I know music, and I know what makes a good DJ”, which his presentation certainly demonstrated. Ending to thunderous applause and a standing ovation, Jon’s session was the icing on the cake of a fantastic four-day educational programme.
