Mobile Beat Las Vegas DJ Show 2017
This week, over 1000 mobile DJs from across America – and a number of other countries – met together in Las Vegas for the 21st annual Mobile Beat DJ show. Offering a huge programme of educational content alongside an equipment exhibit area and series of networking parties, Mobile Beat is the largest event in the world dedicated solely to mobile DJs.

Running from Monday the 13th to Thursday the 16th of March, Mobile Beat 21 returned once again to The Tropicana Hotel. Positioned right in the heart of the famous Las Vegas Strip, the show’s venue put attendees right in the thick of the Las Vegas action.

The host of this year’s show was Todd Mitchem, an ex-DJ turned corporate trainer, professional speaker, and author. Todd tied the whole event together, introducing each speaker onto the stage and also regularly adding in ideas and practical demonstrations in-between the scheduled sessions.

Spear-heading the expansive line-up of presenters were two keynote speakers brought in from outside the DJ industry, Ted DiBiase and Jeffrey Gitomer. Making his second appearance at Mobile Beat, Ted DiBiase served as the event’s inspirational keynote. Better known by many as WWF wrestler ‘The Million Dollar Man’, Ted used anecdotes from his wrestling career to inspire the DJs in the room to be the best that they can at what they do. Author and professional speaker, Jeffrey Gitomer, meanwhile, provided practical ideas and advice to help DJs improve their selling technique.

Other speakers throughout the four days included many who had presented at past events as well as a smattering of new blood. Marcello Pedalino, Rob Ferre, Jason Weldon, Vickie Musni, Mitch Taylor, Rob Peters, Mike Walter, Tom Haibeck, Justin Miller, and Matt Radicelli, to name just a few.

Opening on the Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, the expo floor offered plenty of new sound and lighting gear for attendees to see, try, and buy. Established brands such as ADJ, Bose, Chauvet DJ, QSC, Denon DJ, Numark, DJ Event Planner, Peavey, and Pioneer DJ, were joined by many smaller niche companies and new brands offering every imaginable product and service that a DJ may need.

Mobile Beat isn’t just about education and gear, it’s also about networking with fellow DJs from across the world as well as spending time socialising with them. Evening events this year consisted of a Speedquizzing pre-party on the Sunday evening, the Peavey DJ takeover on the Monday evening, and Mobile Beat’s 21st birthday bash on the Tuesday night featuring special guest DJ Paul Oakenfold.
