Providing DJs with an adaptable new GOBO projector that allows them to incorporate colourful GOBO effects into their mobile lighting rigs, ADJ is set to release its new Ikon Profile, featuring a bright LED source, adjustable framing shutters and textured glass GOBOs.
ADJ has fitted the new Ikon Profile projector with a 32W white LED source, letting users create a powerful beam of light that makes for crisp, well-defined GOBO projections that bring excitement to the dance-floor. In addition to this bright LED source, the unit also comes with one textured glass GOBO and four metal GOBOs, while custom GOBOs can also be used for when clients and guests request a personalised display, such as the names of the bride and groom at a wedding.
The Ikon Profile is equipped with a number of practical features that make it well-suited to use by mobile DJs working different events and venues. The beam angle, for example, can be manually adjusted from 15- to 40° and the GOBO swapped out, effectively turning the projector into a spotlight unit. Users can also manually focus the unit to ensure a vivid projection when changing the beam angle.
In addition to the adjustable beam angle, users can use the Ikon Profile’s manually adjustable framing shutters to shape the light into any four-sided shape they want. Whether they require a square beam or a wider rectangular form, mobile DJs can therefore match the Ikon Profile’s projection to the size of the dance-floor, stage or event feature for a more uniform look. The new unit also makes the most of a colour frame, so users can add filters and colour correction filters to generate beam projections in a range of hues.
“High-power GOBO effects can really take a lightshow to the next level, so naturally we wanted to provide that option to our customers while keeping the price at a fair point,” said Alfred Gonzales, National Sales Manager for ADJ USA. “For the forward-thinking new Ikon Profile, we’ve combined a powerful 32W LED with interchangeable GOBOs and manually adjustable beam angle/focus to offer users an exceptionally versatile GOBO projector that also doubles as a spotlight unit.”
In terms of control, the Ikon Profile provides a four-channel DMX mode, allowing mobile DJs to go in-depth with their GOBO lightshows. Or, for simple but effective control, the unit is also compatible with ADJ’s UC IR remote and Airstream IR App, allowing for extensive wireless control from a distance of up to nine metres.
Weighing in at just 2.7kg and boasting compact dimensions (406 x 152 x 229mm), ADJ has ensured that mobile DJs can easily incorporate the Ikon Profile into their setup, no matter how mobile it needs to be. For the bigger events, the Ikon Profile’s IEC power outlet even allows users to daisy-chain the power for up to 16 units at 120V.
The Ikon Profile will be available from ADJ Europe in April 2016.
