CHAUVET DJ Introduces Innovative 3-in-1 Moving Head
DJ lighting manufacturer CHAUVET DJ has announced the arrival of its new Intimidator Trio, an LED-powered moving head that provides mobile DJs with beam, wash and effect features, allowing them to create a multi-faceted lightshow for their audiences and guests.
The new Intimidator Trio, which will be available from retailers soon, has been fitted with six 21W RGBW LEDs and motorised zoom, enabling users to create both powerful narrow beams and wider washes in a range of colours. While the zoom angle can be easily changed from a tight 7⁰ to a much wider 53⁰, allowing mobile DJs to wash the dance-floor or create exciting overhead beam effects, the fixtures also utilises a continuously-rotating honeycomb that delivers an eye-catching multi-beam effect.
However the Intimidator Trio is used, its pan and tilt movement (540⁰/270⁰) offers a room-filling display, but for a more-focussed lightshow users can also activate the built-in Totem Mode, which keeps the beams concentrated on the dance-floor for maximum impact.
In terms of control, CHAUVET offers users coordinated master/slave programs for up to the four connected Intimidator Trio fixtures, as well as 15- and 30-channel DMX settings and the option for wireless control offer primary features using the optional IRC-6 remote. Using the built-in auto programs with zone control, mobile DJs can easily achieve an advanced look without the need for complex programing. There is also the option to set, save and recall one scene directly for the unit’s full-colour LCD display, giving users the ability to quickly and easily trigger an effective lightshow.
Offering further convenience, mobile DJs can power link up to eight Intimidator Trio units at 230V, enabling an extensive lightshow perfect for small and mid-size venues such as function rooms, dining halls, bars, social clubs and small nightclubs. The fixture is also well-suited to life on the road thanks to its low weight (9.2kg) and compact dimensions (278 x 278 x 386mm), while the separately sold CHS-50 VIP Gear Bag allows for safe and damage-free transport between gigs.
