ACME MiracLED
The MiracLED is an addition to Prolight Concepts' range of ACME LED effect units that was launched last summer and reviewed in Pro Mobile issue 25. Combining innovative effects, bright output and affordable price, the initial range was an instant hit and soon became firm favourites of the mobile DJ community.

While utilising the same technology, the MiracLED offers a very different effect to the existing units in the range. It is a modern version of the old multi-lens disco effects that were popular back in the 90s. In essence it combines four separate LED effect projectors into a single unit. The four lenses are arranged in a fan formation, producing four distinct beam clusters, which give the MiracLED a very wide coverage.

The light output is provided by a total of 244 LEDs, made up of 80 red, 60 green, 48 blue and 36 white. The LEDs are divided between the four lenses and then arranged in five concentric circles of the same colour; red LEDs are used for both the smallest inside circle and largest outside circle, with the other three colours filling in-between.

Each ring of LEDs, for each separate lens, can be controlled independently; this means that a vast collection of different effects can be created. The internal programmes offer plenty of variety; sometimes the output from each lens is the same, while for others patterns chase across the four lenses.

The internal microphone is mounted on the back of the unit complete with a sensitivity control and the MiracLED is perfect for use as a standalone dance-floor filling effect. For a little more control, a jack input socket is provided for a CA-8 three button controller and multiple units can also be linked together for Master/Slave operation. To easily enhance a lightshow using multiple MiracLED units, there is a 'two light show' option. This allows some of the units to be set to produce a contrasting, yet still synchronised effect.
