Reloop Partners With Serato and Algoriddim To Create MIXON 4 Controller
The latest controller from Reloop DJ, the MIXON 4, has been developed to be a ‘hybrid’ device designed to work plug ‘n’ play with djay PRO and Serato DJ. It offers multi-platform support for PC/Mac as well as iOS and Android and incorporates an integrated docking station that holds any size of tablet up to an iPad PRO (12.9”).
"We are thrilled to present our newest performance hybrid controller that offers an unparalleled
experience to the world of digital DJing,” comments Gerald Barbyer, Reloop Product Manager.
“MIXON 4 was developed together with two of the leading DJ software companies in their field,
forging this unique concept that enables mixing across all platforms: DJs can unlock the full potential of Serato DJ and be more creative with the newest expansion packs and forward-thinking controls. NextGen users will love the freedom and advanced integration with Algoriddim’s djay PRO, especially when experiencing the raw power with an iPAD PRO placed beautifully into the docking station.”
The sturdy 4-channel mixer gives users high-quality audio processing and an intuitive
layout with individual signal meters on each channel allowing for comfortable gain mixing. The
line faders are precise and the assignable crossfader has been optimised for fast cuts. The metal shafts for the effect, filter, EQ and gain knobs are tightly bolted for confident and stable mixing. The internal, low latency and low-noise USB 2.0 audio interface gives DJs high quality sound on all platforms. Along with two master outputs for professional PAs, MIXON 4 comes with separate booth outputs as well as a mic and two headphone connections.
The MIXON 4’s large jog wheels have a touch-sensitive aluminum surface for tactile control, while the virtual needle illumination informs users of the current playback position and remaining track length. Each deck is also equipped with 8 RGB backlit pads, which are velocity-sensitive and can be used to trigger Hot Cues, Loop Rolls, Samples and other software features.
“Mixon is an incredibly versatile and powerful solution for any type of DJ and we are very excited to have partnered with Reloop on this new hardware,” said Karim Morsy, CEO of Algoriddim. “It’s the first controller designed specifically to integrate with iPad Pro and djay Pro and it takes the experience of using our apps to a whole new level, across desktop and mobile devices alike."
Martin Cains, Serato Product Planner, added "We have closely collaborated with Reloop to develop the Mixon 4, their latest 4-channel controller for Serato DJ to ensure tight integration between hardware and software features. This controller is another great device for DJs wanting the flexibility of an all-in-one setup."
The MIXON 4 is due to hit shops at the end of October 2016 with a SSP of £590.
