Making use of the same 150W COB source and variable beam angle, but offering a sleek ‘Pearl’ finish, ADJ has announced the release of an updated version of its popular COB Cannon Wash unit, which lets mobile DJs create both wide colour washes and more-focused par effects.

Housed in a modern off-white metal casing, the new COB Cannon Wash Pearl from ADJ has been designed for use in venues and churches with lightly coloured décor, but can also be utilised by mobile DJs who want an all-white setup for weddings, parties and corporate events. Modern brides often request a stylish all-white design for their receptions, so the COB Cannon Wash Pearl lets users deliver colour wash effects while keeping their lighting units consistent with the general look and feel of the event.

Thanks to its 150W quad-colour (RGBA) COB LED and expansive 80⁰ beam angle, the COB Cannon Wash Pearl produces wide, even washes without shadows in a range of colours, while the included lens kit enables users to also use the unit as a powerful par effect, reducing the beam angle to 50⁰ or 40⁰. This flexibility means mobile DJs can wash dance-floors, stages and even entire rooms, or use the more concentrated par effects to draw audience attention to event features or certain areas.

Mobile DJs with a creative streak will also be glad to know that the COB Cannon Wash can be pixel-mapped, enabling animated patterns and chase effects to be easily spread across multiple fixtures to produce an eye-catching display. LED pulse and strobe effects can also be triggered, letting users add energy to the events they work, while 0-100% electronic dimming allows the intensity of the effects to be easily adjusted.

When it comes to operating the COB Cannon Wash Pearl, users can choose from a range of built-in programs (including colour change and strobe effects) or pick from a selection of 64 built-in colour macros for vibrant static colour washes. Offering in-depth control and more creative possibilities, mobile DJs can also run the fixture in DMX-Controlled mode, which features 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10-channel options. Alternatively, the unit can be operated using the separately sold ADJ UC-IR wireless remote control.

Adding to the flexibility of the fixture, ADJ has also fitted the COB Cannon Wash Pearl with a dual yoke, allowing users to mount it on truss or set it on the ground. This means DJs can adapt the positioning to suit their needs, whether they want to mount the unit above the dance-floor to flood the area with colour or set it on the ground for lighting the back of the stage or booth, washing the venue walls or uplighting architectural features.

Designed with a low weight (4.1kg) and compact dimensions, mobile DJs will find it convenient to take multipole COB Cannon Wash Pearls on the road with them as part of their mobile setup, with their size making them easy to set up inside venues, even where space is limited. Daisy-chaining the power for these multiple fixtures is also possible, thanks to the unit’s PowerCon in/out connections on the rear.
