As visitors return to normality following this year’s energetic BPM event (which ran from the 12th to the 14th of September at Birmingham’s NEC) CHAUVET DJ has been reflecting upon its successful outing at the show, which saw the company offering mobile DJs plenty in the way of lighting effects and more.

Aside from sponsoring the BPM ARENA, which saw countless talented artists take to the stage and perform beneath a stunning CHAUVET DJ/Chauvet Professional lightshow, the company also used BPM to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

“Although we’ve been regular exhibitors at BPM for several years now, given that we’re celebrating CHAUVET’s 25th anniversary this year was extremely important for us,” said CHAUVET General Manager for Europe, Michael Brooksbank. “To mark this momentous milestone, we really pulled out all the stops. And it paid off – the guests were absolutely enthralled by our new products.”

At this year’s show, thousands of visitors were treated to no less than five new CHAUVET DJ product launches: the D-Fi USB series, the Intimidator Trio, the Swarm 4 FX and the COREpar 40, 80 and UV USB series.

The first of these, the D-Fi USB series, aroused significant interest throughout the show, especially from mobile DJs, who were impressed by the range of fixtures – from LED pars and COB colour washes to GOBO projectors, LED strobes and simulated water effects – on display. Powered via standard USB connection, the lighting solutions can all be controlled with CHAUVET’s thumb-drive-sized D-Fi USB transceiver, eliminating the need for DMX cables and stirring up significant interest from DJs looking to add more practical but effective lighting fixtures to their mobile setups.

CHAUVET DJ’s classic Intimidator range of moving heads was also graced with a new addition at BPM 2015: the Intimidator Trio. Building on the popular series’ reputation, the Intimidator Trio’s moving head features three lights with beam, wash and effects in one affordable package. Many visitors to BPM were impressed with the fixture’s motorised zoom, which allowed for seamless switches between narrow beams and wide washes – ideal for mobile DJs that want a versatile lighting effect capable of both washes and mid-air beam effects.

Another product that went down well with DJs at BPM was the Swarm 4 FX, a 3-in-1 LED light fixture that combines red and green lasers, white strobe effects and an RGBAW rotating derby, allowing users to create a unique multi-effect display with which to wow their crowds. Offering control over separate colours and programs, the Swarm 4 FX also gives DJs the freedom to customise the effects and therefore the look of any lightshow, as well as allowing them to create a synchronised display by power-linking multiple units.
