New American Audio Amp Range
DJs and entertainers looking to beef up their sound system without breaking their bank accounts should check out the new ELX Series of power amplifiers from American Audio.

Consisting of three models - ELX2000, ELX3000 and ELX4000 – the ELX Series provides today’s most desired professional features, such as XLR inputs and Speakon outputs, along with consistently high-quality audio performance - all for incredibly low price tags.

The newest members of AA’s Value Series of ‘no-frills’ affordable audio products, the ELX amps are ideal for powering main speakers or monitors by anyone who’s watching their wallet, but still needs a professional-calibre power amplifier that delivers day in/day out, reliable sweet-sounding audio. Each model offers a wide Frequency Response of 20Hz – 20kHz, which gives it the ability to generate finely detailed audio from the lowest booming lows to the highest tweeting highs. With a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 0.1 percent, users will get the cleanest, clearest sound possible at all volume levels.

The main difference between the ELX2000, ELX3000 and ELX4000 is their level of output. In bridged mono mode at 8 ohms, the ELX2000 offers 300 watts, while the ELX3000 provides 500 watts and the top-of-the-line ELX4000 outputs 800 watts. With these options, the ELX Series has enough versatility to cover everything from the most intimate social gatherings to the largest venues in which mobile DJs might find themselves.

All models include volume knobs and meters on the front panel. Users can run virtually any audio source through the ELX Series power amplifiers’ In/Out/Through connections, including turntables, laptops, iPods and CD players. Each model features Balanced XLR inputs, Speakon and Binding Post outputs, a high-powered fan to keep the unit cool, and a convenient ground lift switch to help minimise any buzz that might occur with various types of power sources. Specifications include a slew rate of 20 Volts per microsecond and impedance of 20 K Ohms in balanced mode.

“Our ELX Series was designed to fill the demand for high-quality power amplifiers with all the features needed to put on a professional performance, at a down-to-earth price that’s within reach of working bands, DJs, theatres and churches,” said Dirk Kast, General Manager for American Audio Europe. “We’re very pleased with how well the ELX Series has met this goal. It truly occupies a unique niche in the market in terms of its price point versus its impressive audio quality and user features.”

The ELX Series power amplifiers are compact and extremely portable, which makes them suitable for mobile entertainers, concerts and touring production. Each unit measures 19"L x 13.75"W x 3.5"H (483mm x 345mm x 88mm), so they’ll take up only two spaces on a standard rack and leave plenty of room for other essential audio gear. Users will also appreciate their lightweight construction: the ELX2000 is just 10kg, the ELX3000 is 11kg and the ELX4000 is 12kg.
