Ringo Starr To Release Photography Book
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr will release a collection of previously unseen photographs in a new book. ‘Photograph’ will coincide with 'Ringo: Peace & Love', a Grammy Museum exhibition on Starr.
Genesis Publications will release the book, which will actually be distributed first as an ebook and available exclusively on the iBookstore. 2500 limited edition hand-bound books, signed by Ringo, will then follow in December 2013.
Material featured in the publication will include photos of Ringo as well as exclusive images from his own archives. “These are shots that no one else could have” Starr enthused. Images include candid shots of his Beatles bandmates involved in numerous activities including washing, eating, recording, smoking, drinking and playing monopoly as well as tour pictures as they traveled the world. “A good time was had by all in those days” Ringo concluded.
The digital version of the publication is also interactive, readers can pick up and zoom in on photographs as they scroll through whilst listening to audio clips narrated by Ringo. The drummer reminisces about growing up in Liverpool, his first car, drum kit, girls and bands. He has also filmed exclusive videos for the book including interviews, music and animation. “I've got a lot of pictures in the ebook, a lot more in the real book and some in the exhibition in the Grammy Museum”.
‘Photograph’ is available now from the iBookstore at the pre-order price of £8.99 and will then be released on the 12th of June at the full price of £9.99.
