Simon Cowell and Jada Pinkett-Smith are partnering on a new reality show to find the world’s best DJs. The series will be produced by Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment and Will Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, along with Sony Pictures Television.

Already known to television audiences in Britain and the United States as the sharp tongued judge on hit talent shows like American Idol, The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, the 52-year-old is looking to expand his empire. "DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show" he said in a statement. Cowell has also confirmed that he will not take part as judge for the new programme.



The new format will be co-produced by SYCO and Overbrook Entertainment, Cowell says he has “been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people, as soon as I met Jada and Miguel [Melendez, the company's President] from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners.”



Jada Pinkett Smith stated that “this show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent, I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell, the Sony team, and my partner Miguel Melendez, on behalf of the Overbrook family”.



The show is expected to air in both the United States and the UK, although the networks have not yet been announced.
