Numark Introduce iCDMIX2 & iCDMIX3
DJ gear manufacturer Numark has recently announced the launch of two new all-in-one DJ products that are due to hit the shops in September. The iCDMIX2 and iCDMIX3 are both combined playback and mixer units featuring twin CD players, three channel mixer and integrated iPod dock. Each unit has a tough metal construction and is fitted with rack ears for permanent installation or flight-case mounting.
The iCDMIX units both incorporate a three-channel mixer section that is on a par with standalone mixers. It has dedicated mic and iPod channels, as well as replaceable cross-fader and pre-fader cueing controls. For the main channels, you can switch between the onboard CD players or rear-panel RCA inputs for additional CD players, additional iPods or turntables with preamps such as Numark’s TTX USB or TTi. You can cue with headphones using 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch stereo headphone outputs with level control and professional outputs are provided for compatibility with virtually any system.
Both units contain a dual-deck CD player with all of the functionality and capabilities professional DJs expect in standalone units. Both units are also compatible with CD and CD-R discs, while the iCDMIX3 can also play MP3-CD discs, allowing users to carry the same number of tracks on fewer discs. For performance reliability in unpredictable environments each iCDMIX also features Numark’s electronically buffered Anti-Shock™ skip protection.
In addition to standard single-track and continuous playback, both the iCDMIX2 and iCDMIX3 offer a programmable mode so you can set up a sequence of tracks for convenient playback. You can also set cue points in real time for creative performance and both units incorporate Fader Start, which can automatically start cued-up tracks when you move the cross-fader.
