Prolight Unveils New Equinox Slender Beam Centrepiece
Prolight Concepts has announced details of the Equinox Slender Beam Centrepiece, the latest addition to its Slender Beam series. The as yet unreleased product has been designed for use by mobile DJs, who can mount the effect sideways in the middle of their lighting rig to act as an eye-catching centrepiece, perfect for medium-large sized venues.
The Slender Beam Centrepiece fits six mini-moving head beam effects into one unit, with each head housing a 10W quad-colour CREE LED that offers colour variance and extra brightness. Mobile DJs can mount the fixture sideways in the centre of their lighting rig, utilising its 60W light source, 4⁰ beam angle and 540⁰/270⁰ pan/tilt movement to generate cartwheel-style circular effects and concise forward-facing beams in a range of colours. With 0-100% dimming and variable strobe settings at hand too, users will also be able to bring extra intensity to their lightshow when required.
Explaining the thinking behind the product, Bernie Marsh, General Manager of Prolight Concepts, said: “It’s a new spin on the classic centrepiece, now bang up-to-date with quad-colour technology and multiple light shows designed for pro DJ and club applications.”
The Slender Beam Centrepiece can be operated using DMX, with five selectable channels modes to choose from (1, 6, 18, 20 and 39), giving more in-depth command over the fixture to DJs that want it. Auto and Sound Active modes are also accessible, allowing excellent automatic and sound-to-light shows to be easily triggered. With 3-pin XLR inputs/outputs on the rear, mobile DJs will also be able to link multiple Slender Beam Centrepieces in master/slave mode, for a more extensive lightshow and synchronised effects. In addition, the Slender Beam Centrepiece will be compatible with the optional CA-8 handheld controller. The unit also features IEC input/output sockets allowing the power supply for multiple Slender Beam Centrepieces to be linked therefore allowing the number of cables running to a mobile lighting rig to be minimised.
Prolight Concepts has announced that the Equinox Slender Beam Centrepiece will come in white housing, as well as the standard black. Both versions will be available soon at an SSP of £499.00.
