Mixed In Key 7 Provides Practical New Features
A new version of the popular harmonic mixing software Mixed In Key has been released, offering a range of new features, including cue point creation for Serato and Traktor. Helped by the newly improved Mixed In Key 7 software, mobile DJs can easily identify the musical key of their songs and then mix the tracks with matching or complementary keys, making for more harmonious, fine-tuned mixes.
As well as offering quality key and energy-level detection, Mixed In Key 7 gives users the option to add automatic cue points for both Serato and Traktor. Users simply load their tracks, wait for them to be analysed, and then export the cue points. This saves mobile DJs time by assigning up to eight cue points for each track, allowing them to quickly identify significant moments and skip between cue points using their controller.
Mixed In Key 7 also boasts a faster interface, which combines the ‘Analyse Songs’ and ‘Browse Collection’ functions (from the previous version) into one convenient window; lets users see key changes in the middle of tracks; and features a clickable ‘Camelot Wheel’ that allows songs to be browsed quickly. Furthermore, the new version offers better integration with iTunes.
With excellent support for ID3 tagging, mobile DJs can use Mixed In Key 7 with most reputable DJ software packages, including Traktor, Serato, Pioneer CDJs/rekordbox, VirtualDJ and Ableton Live.
