CHAUVET DJ Releases Unique MotionOrb
CHAUVET DJ’s latest release, the MotionOrb, is a product that offers something different and unique for mobile DJs. A new concept, the fixture is a décor light comprising fifty-five colour-changing LED orbs mounted on ‘strings’ across five rows, giving mobile DJs a creative lighting alternative to moving effects that offers smooth RGB colour mixing.
The MotionOrb has been designed to look great while hanging from truss, using its 10mm or 12mm threaded bolt holes, or draped across the ceiling for an outdoor ‘courtyard bar’ feel. For covering ceilings and walls, CHAUVET has also released the separately sold MotionOrb EXT Kit, which extends the MotionOrb by up to 4-metres using XLR connections. With hanging loops at the end of each string, the user’s options for hanging and arranging the unit’s strings of lights are also expanded, while the various options for string length offered by the MotionOrb EXT Kit allow various sizes of area to be covered.
With thirty built-in programs – including colour chases and the popular LED ‘rain’ effect – the MotionOrb can easily produce cool colour effects. In Master/Slave configuration, these colour changes and chases can then be expanded across up to three units for an LED wall of coordinated patterns. The unit can also be operated via a DMX controller and in DMX mode users can achieve eye-catching effects using pixel mapping, making the MotionOrb ideal as a backdrop for a mobile DJ’s stage setup.
Up to thirty units can be power-linked at 230-volts, enabling mobile DJs to cover stages, ceiling and walls with the MotionOrb’s unique effects, as well as create an LED wall of pixel-mapped effects to use as a backdrop.
The MotionOrb also comes with a custom gear bag; great for the needs of DJs on the go as it offers easy, safe transportation, as well as looking neat and stylish for when mobile DJs arrive and unpack at events.
