ADJ Launches Portable Dotz Par and Dotz TPar System
ADJ has added two new products to its ever-expanding range, offering mobile DJs a duo of lighting solutions suited to their portable needs. The Dotz Par and the Dotz TPar System both use COB LED technology to allow bright washes and smooth colour mixing while remaining compact and portable.
The company has fitted its Dotz Par fixture with a 36-watt tri-colour COB LED, 35 built-in colour macros and a 60-degree beam angle, making for a range of selectable colours and a powerful wash effect for covering venues, dance-floors and audiences in light. The fixture also comes with a lens kit included, which lets DJs reduce the beam angle to a more concise 25-degrees, so they can use the fixture for spotlighting, up-lighting, or as a beam effect in conjunction with fog and smoke instead. Users also have access to strobe and pulse effects, as well as pixel mapping, all of which are of particular use to DJs catering for younger clientele. Due to these varying effects, the Dotz Par can be used as a multi-functional fixture by mobile DJs; saving them the need to carry separate sets of wash lights and spotlights, and helping with storage and transport issues.
The Dotz Par comes with five operational modes to choose from, so mobile DJs can pick between Auto Run, Sound Active, Colour Macro, Dimmer, or DMX-Controlled depending on their needs and technical knowledge. DMX Mode offers four different channel options: 3, 4, 5, and 9. Users can daisy-chain up to 28 Dotz Par fixtures at 230-volts, reducing the wiring required for a more extensive lightshow, and due to DMX inputs and outputs that sit sideways, DJs can set the units on the ground or even inside truss. This makes the Dotz Par ideal for up-lighting venues or warming up truss.
Incorporating four of these 30-watt heads into a one-bag, portable COB LED wash solution is the Dotz TPar System. Many of the system’s features lend themselves to the on-the-go lifestyle of mobile DJs, with tripod stand, foot controller, remote control and protective bags (a stand bag and a soft case for the lighting bar) all included in the package. As for the system itself; ADJ has fitted four tri-colour COB LED heads to a T-Bar and enabled a 90-degree beam angle for wide washes. As with the Dotz Par, users can also fit a lens kit to reduce the beam angle to 25-degrees, and activate strobe and pulse effects, allowing DJs to create a more exciting lightshow for their audiences.
The Dotz TPar System gives users four operational modes to choose from: Sound Active, Auto Run, Built-In Programs, and DMX-512 – so control options are varied. Both the Dotz Par and the Dotz TPar System come with a Par RF controller, so mobile DJs can trigger Sound Active mode and select built-in and auto-run programs from a distance of 25-metres.
With the company always striving to be innovative, ADJ has also fitted the Dotz TPar System with adjustable fixings that allow users to mount two additional lights on top of the T-bar using plastic thumb screws. These extra effects can be plugged into power output sockets located on the back of the bar, so multiple fixtures can draw from the same power source. These extra fixtures can then be operated via the included wireless foot pedal, or turned on and off using a DMX board. Due to the whole system weighing in at 16Kgs, the Dotz TPar can be easily carried in and out of gigs, lifted into transport, and stored away.
