NADJ Adds Scotland Branch
NADJ, the largest DJ association in the UK, has announced the formation of a newly recognised branch: NADJ Scotland.

After its five founding members had written to the NADJ to propose the branch and declared an ‘in formation’ status, a final meeting took place on Wednesday 26th February 2014 at DJ Depot in Falkirk, where NADJ Scotland was made official.

With no objections to any of the five founding members, the following individuals will continue to manage NADJ Scotland: Christopher Matthews, as Branch Chairman; Stephen Elliott, as Branch Secretary; Ian Montgomery, as Branch Treasurer; Stuart Maclennan; and Gary Nicol.

NADJ will transfer £200 of start-up funds, issue two promotional roller banners and 5,000 promotional leaflets – the latter two items being for the promotion of the association’s DJs at events, such as wedding fayres; with DJs being able to affix their business card to the leaflets.

After an introduction to the NADJ, the branch’s first official meeting saw Gregg Summers deliver an inspirational and passionate talk, a presentation by Elaine and Robert from Motherwell-based View Photography, deals and discounts (as well as food and drink) from DJ Depot, and a raffle with an exciting twist.

After Andy Nicol won the amazing first prize – a pair of active Wharfedale Pro speakers (worth £800) – the twist became clear; the winner had to nominate the next prize, until all of the prizes were gone – resulting in lots of winning DJs. The raffle wasn’t the only rewarding part of the night, however. All free of charge; View Photography offered to take photos for the DJs at their events, whilst Gregg Summers (possibly the most passionate Scot since Braveheart) offered DJs another chance to put the passion back into their performance.

NADJ Scotland’s first meeting was a great chance for DJs to network, develop their knowledge and find out more about the association, whilst also being offered free services, the latest deals, and exciting raffle prizes. The branch was formally opened by John Forbes, the Membership Officer for the National Association of Disc Jockeys, and the committee have already posted a short video on the NADJ Scotland Facebook page.
