Times have changed for the better, but I still feel that the diversity of DJ booths on the market doesn’t meet the demand. The products are great but there aren’t many options and the options we do have seem to offer a very similar look (a frame with a fabric scrim).
With this in mind, I’d like to talk you through the booths I’ve used over the past few years and what’s unique about each one. Looking at the different options on the market, including their pros and cons, should help you when choosing a booth for your own setup.
Gorilla Stand (with façade) - This is the type of set up that a lot of mobile DJs start out with, because it’s one of the cheapest ways to get going. If I remember rightly, I paid around £50 for a Gorilla Stand (it came with an overhead bar) and the façade was roughly £100. That’s less than half the price of most other options and it still gives you a professional look.
As well as the great price point, it’s also easy to compress down to fit into a car – essential for DJs who are just starting out or don’t have access to a van or larger vehicle.
