With the major February expos now behind us and 2026 well under way, it truly feels like a new dawn for our industry. The energy at the recent shows was electric, and with several landmark product launches already crossing my desk, there is a real sense of momentum in the air.

Lighting and PA in my family started with my grandad Peter – an absolute gentleman who loved helping people and supporting the community he lived in. At Christmas, he was the guy up the ladder installing Christmas lights throughout the village (St Osyth, Essex) and for community events he would erect scaffold poles with those huge grey horns that would sound like you were at the races, just to ensure that all announcements could be heard throughout the village.

It’s ten years since the passing of Prince. Arguably one of the music industry’s greatest creative talents, Prince was a powerhouse of popular tunes, creating a wealth of hits for himself and others, not to mention a staggering catalogue of albums and unpublished material that’s still being released a decade later.
