HK Audio Debuts Pulsar Line of Affordable Cabinets
German sound reinforcement wizards HK Audio have unveiled Pulsar, their newest line of affordable cabinets. Built to the usual rigorous HK Audio standards, the three cabinets in the Pulsar line-up are solid, reliable and provide excellent live sound reproduction.
Pulsar has been specifically designed for DJs and musicians who want state-of-the-art acoustics and electronics packaged in a classic format. Manufactured at HK Audio's St. Wendel plant in South West Germany, these PA cabinets feature select wood chosen for its superior acoustic qualities. Inside is a sophisticated integrated digital controller and power circuitry with remarkable headroom. This combination packs a mighty sonic punch with perfectly balanced, rich and transparent sound at any volume.
The most affordable of the bunch is the 12” PL112FA (£699 UK RRP). Compact and comfortably portable, this high performance unit continues to deliver remarkable bass response even at high volume levels, without sacrificing any of the midrange performance that is so vital.
Although just slightly larger and heavier than the PL112FA, the 15” PL115FA (£799 UK RRP) packs a mightier punch in the bass frequencies and low mids, making it an excellent standalone solution for mobile DJs, as well as the perfect complement to the PL118FA subwoofer in larger setups.
The PL118FA (£899 UK RRP) is a powerful 18” subwoofer that delivers crisp, tight signals. It renders higher register bass tones with plenty of snap, despite its remarkably low-ranging response. This makes it everything the demanding DJ wants, and is just what larger PAs need in a bass bin.
Available from October 2013, Pulsar is set to give DJs, artists and venues great new options to further improve their sound.
