The Wailers Will Perform In UK This Autumn
Legendary artists The Wailers are set to return to the UK throughout September and October with their internationally popular ‘Legend’ album tour.
‘Legend’ has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, and is the 12th release from Bob Marley and The Wailers (the second posthumous release for Marley). The disc is the best selling reggae album of all time and is the second longest charting album in the history of billboard magazine. Tracks featured on the album are just as highly requested now as when they were first released and include ‘Could You Be Loved’, ‘I Shot The Sheriff’ and ‘Stir It Up’.
During their time with the late Bob Marley, the group have clocked up over twenty chart hits including seven top 10 entries. The Wailers have also performed with Sting, the Fugees, Stevie Wonder and Santana. They have played to 24 million people across the globe since forming in 1969 after signing to island Records. Since Bob Marley’s death the group have still gone from strength to strength, sharing the stage with The Stone Roses at their Heaton Park shows and recently joining country legend Kenny Chesney for a new track ‘Spread The Love’.
The current line-up features the anchor of the band, Aston 'Family Man' Barrett on bass, Duane 'Danglin'' Anglin on lead vocals, Keith Sterling on keyboards, Zeb 'Drummy' Williams on drums, Audley Chisholm on rhythm Guitar, Aston Barrett Jr. on percussion/keys, and on backing vocals Cegee Victory. Family Man is still insistent that the group will continue on their musical journey and deliver Marley’s message, “Our music is the magic, the oxygen of the people. It's the message of roots, culture and reality, meant to spread peace and love to all.”
