Following on from the successful launch of his book, ‘Wedding Marketing for DJs’, Derek Pengelly is once again inviting mobile DJs to participate in a series of workshops due to take place in September. These interactive training days have been created to provide advice on marketing to brides, offering additional services, improving communication skills and the staging of interactive spotlight moments.
Two of the workshops on offer have already attracted over a hundred UK DJs over the last three years. Many delegates have attended both and some have even attended a specific workshop for a second time.
Derek is also launching a brand new workshop in 2013, ‘Entrances and Spotlight Moments’, which is a practical training day sharing hints and tips to help you do what you already do in a better way. This workshop concentrates on staging, production and direction, ingredients often overlooked when introducing an entrance, toasts or a first dance. During the day Derek will also share techniques to help delegates arrange client meetings and offer advice on how to conduct such meetings, effectively demonstrating to the client a DJ’s value.
Two themes run through all three workshops. ‘Brides don’t know what they don’t know’ and ‘It’s not what we do, but how we do it which gets results’. Feedback from previous delegates indicates that seasoned professionals and those just starting out in the business can benefit from Derek’s extensive experience and expertise. Many have been motivated, inspired and empowered to be proactive, target their ideal clients, communicate their true value and consequently receive higher fees for their services. One attendee enthused, “I feel pumped up after Derek’s courses. More so than any other course I've ever been on. He has a way of making it clear to me exactly what needs to be done.”
The workshops run from Tuesday September 17th through to Thursday September 19th inclusive. These dates follow immediately on from the BPM show at the NEC in Birmingham and all of the workshops will be held at The Holiday Inn Birmingham airport.
Each day can be booked individually or packages of two or three day workshops are available with a discount. Places are strictly limited to a maximum of 15 per day. There is also a prize draw to encourage DJs to book their place early. Once ten places have been booked all names will go into a hat and one of those ten will be randomly selected to receive a full refund on the ticket price.
