M People Announce 20th Anniversary Tour
‘One Night In Heaven’ group, M People, will be embarking on their first UK tour in 8 years. The reunion is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album ‘Elegant Slumming’.
Emerging onto the scene in the early 90s, their first acclaimed album ‘Northern Soul’ gave the group their first top ten single ‘How Can I Love You More’. The band then added percussionist Shovell and went on to win a Brit award and Mercury Music Prize following the release of their 2nd album ‘Elegant Slumming’. In their career, M People have sold more than 11 million records and had ten top ten singles including ‘Moving On Up’, ‘Search For The Hero’ and ‘One Night In Heaven’
The tour will see Heather Small, Paul Heard and Shovell (pictured below) perform at 14 venues around the UK. However the group won't be joined by original founder Mike Pickering.
Heather discusses her excitement at M People's comeback, “I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road with the guys again. It’s been 8 years since we last toured together and we always have such fun, you can expect a big party on that stage!”
