Texas To Release New Album
Texas have announced their return after a six year hiatus. The band's new album ‘The Conversation’ will be their 8th album release since they formed in 1986.
The group have just signed a new deal with (PIAS) Recordings and ‘The Conversation’ is expected later in the year. “When we started talking with (PIAS) we were really impressed by their enthusiasm and passion for our new music and how they work in a very modern and artist-friendly way," singer Sharleen Spiteri said. "We are really excited about starting a brand new phase of our career with our eighth studio album and a brand new label partner."
So far, the group has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Their ‘White On Blonde’ album, released in 1997, was certified 6-times Platinum in the UK and was nominated in 2010 for the BRIT Award's ‘Best Album In The Past 25 Years’. The album featured the top ten singles ‘Say What You Want’, ‘Halo’, ‘In Our Lifetime’ and ‘Black Eyed Boy’. Sharleen also launched a solo career during the group’s break, though it failed to materialise, with four of her five single releases failing to reach the top 40 despite her album making it to number 3.
