Slash Announces UK Solo Tour
Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has announced the details for a full UK solo tour later this year. The 47 year old, who is infamous for his trademark long curly hair, left the legendary rock band in 1996 after disputes with frontman Axl Rose.
Slash will perform tracks from his second album ‘Apocalyptic Love’ in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Newcastle with singer Myles Kennedy on vocals. Also supporting will be Brent Fitz on drums and Todd Kerns on bass guitar who are part of Myles’ band, Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators. They will also be performing their own material alongside Slash during the tour.
Slash recently completed a full European tour, which included an appearance at this summer's Download Festival and a one-off show at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo on the 6th of June. Earlier this month he was awarded a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, “I’ve been a part of the Hollywood fabric for a long time and to actually be appreciated by the city of Hollywood is a huge, huge honor,” he told the assembled audience. “And so I want to thank everybody for this; it’s unbelievable.”
Slash will play these UK dates in October:
Edinburgh Corn Exchange (7th)
O2 Apollo Manchester (8th)
Birmingham National Indoor Arena (9th)
O2 Academy Brixton (11th)
O2 Academy Newcastle (15th)
Tickets for the tour will go on sale today (Friday 3rd of August) at 9am.
