Mastermix Release Issue 311
Issue 311 is out now and includes an exciting selection of music for DJs of all types. This two part set contains twelve of the fiercest mixes, mash-ups and remixes around, featured artists include rap princess Nicki Minaj, the Don of dance music David Guetta and current RnB stars Sean Paul, Far East Movement and LMFAO. Additions by Madness, Skints, King Kurt, Ordinary Boys and Blondie are also sure to go down well with a party crowd.

The ‘Pop Party’ mix warms us up with Pixie Lott’s (arguably) best single ‘All About Tonight,’ before going into the pumping ‘Starships’ by Nicki Minaj, and RnB hits ‘Turn Up The Music’ by Chris Brown, ‘She Doesn’t Mind’ by Sean Paul and ‘Sexy And I Know It’ by LMFAO. The hit-filled mix then ends with the smash from Alexandra Burke and Eric Morillo, ‘Elephant’.

We are then taken into toe tapping territory with the ‘Modern Ska’ mix, which is sure to get even the toughest crowd moving! ‘NW5’ from Madness starts us off, before going into tracks from King Kurt, Skints, Ordinary Boys, Dirty Pretty Things and Fratelis and finishing off with ‘Monkey Man’ and ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ from Reel Big Fish. A ‘Triple Tracker’ from LMFAO completes the first half of the disc and includes their three top forty hits.

It’s all in the name with ‘Good Groovin’ – All Cut Up’, you can’t help but get shuffling with this retro mix. Kicking off with the classic from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, ‘The Message’ and including hits from Blondie, Queen, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, George Benson and many more! Time to get movin’ groovin’ with this truly original mix!

The real highlight of CD1 is the ’10 Of The Best: David Guetta’ mix which contains all of his best known hits, Sexy Chick’, ‘Sweat’, ‘Getting’ Over You’ to name but a few, ideal for DJs who want everything in one place! This leads us onto the end of CD1 and I think the chaps at Mastermix were feeling quite nostalgic when they put the CD1 finale mash-up together. Teaming the Strictly Come Dancing theme tune with the classic track from the Jungle Book, ‘I Wanna Be Like You’, an interesting mash-up that is bound to get a few giggles!

In a great contrast to CD1, CD2 is all about the pumping dance music! Mixes include ‘Chart Breakers’, Commercial Dance’ and ‘Electro Dance’ and are comprised of some of the most well-known hits, Sorry For Party Rocking’ from LMFAO, ‘Satisfaction’ by Benny Benassi, ‘Part Of Me’ by Katy Perry, ‘212’ by Azealia Banks feat. Lazy Jay and the unmistakeable smash ‘Riverside (Let’s Go!)’ by Sidney Samson vs. Wizard Sleeve. All this high energy music is nestled around the ‘Chillout Mix’, a quintessential set of laid back classics that should be in any collection, including, ‘9pm (Till I Come) (Afterlife Remix)’, ‘Lazy’ and ‘Sing It Back’.

We’re coming to the end of Issue 311 and the penultimate collection is the ‘Sean Paul Hitmix’, which includes his UK No.2 single ‘She Doesn’t Mind’ along with ‘Do You Remember?’ ‘Temperature’ and ‘We Be Burnin’’. The CD, as usual, ends on a high note with a great mash-up of ‘Jessie J vs. Pink’ with ‘Domino’ and ‘Raise Your Glass’.

A great collection, carefully selected for DJ use only! Issue 311 is available now from Mastermix priced at £18.38
