Mastermix Release Retro Party Mixes
We’re stepping back in time with Mastermix’s new CD, ‘Party Retro Mixes’, a great collection of 5 fast-moving megamixes which will definitely get your feet tapping in the sunshine. Each mix features 15 tracks in 15 minutes so they are perfect to use as part of a DJ's party set when time is a little tight. With artists including retro ladies of pop, Dolly Parton and her classic ‘9 To 5’ and Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Hey Now (Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun)’ to the energetic party poppers ‘I Am The Music Man’ by Black Lace and ‘Y.M.C.A’ by the Village People.
‘Party This Way’ kicks off the CD, a medium energy mix which is packed full of sing-a-long favourites such as Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Play That Funky Music’ by Wild Cherry and the band that only dogs can hear, The Bee Gees with their infamous tracks ‘Night Fever’ and ‘Stayin’ Alive’. This megamix has a slightly more RnB feel to it, adding a bit of ‘gangsta’ with ‘Rapper’s Delight’ by Sugarhill Gang and ‘Walk This Way’ by Run DMC. Whatever your crowd is into, ‘Party This Way’ is a mix that will definitely get things started.
Moving swiftly on we arrive at ‘Teenage Kicks’, a mix that will delight ‘party boppers’ of all ages. With tracks by some ‘cheeky chappies’ of 70’s/80’s pop including ‘Baggy Trousers’ by Madness, ‘Real Wild Child (Wild One)’ by Iggy Pop and of course Undertones with ‘Teenage Kicks’. A slightly more ‘rough and ready’ mix with plenty of tracks to jump around to, Blondie’s ‘Call Me’ will definitely be guaranteed to be a floorfiller, as well as ‘Do Anything You Wanna Do’ by Eddie And The Hotrods.
‘Rock ‘N’ Roller’ is up next, a high energy ‘dance-tastic’ mix which includes some of the most well-known tracks of all time. The infamous ‘Runaround Sue’ starts us off, followed by the unmistakeable voice of Chubby Checker with ‘Let’s Twist’, cheeky Chubby even managed to squeeze another track in with ‘Let’s Twist Again’ a little further into the mix. The sounds of the sixties are alive and well with ‘Great Balls Of Fire’ by Jerry Lee Lewis, ‘Hound Dog’ by Elvis Presley, ‘C’Mon Everybody’ by Eddie Cochran and ‘Tutti Fruitti’ by Little Richard.
The penultimate mix brings us a little closer in time with retro hits from the 80’s and 90’s in the ‘Pop Goes The Party’ collection. Cheesy wonders include ‘Don’t Stop Movin’’ from the rumoured-to-be-reunited S Club 7, moving onto the late, great, Michael Jackson with ‘Billie Jean’ and Madonna with ‘Music’. 90’s choices include ‘Relight My Fire’ by Take That, ‘Bop Bop Baby’ by Westlife, ‘Get The Party Started’ by Pink and the brilliant cover of ‘Jump’ by Girls Aloud.
Finally the ‘Party Retro Mixes’ come to a close, but not without a last bang! The last megamix is the ‘Action Songs’ mix, a high energy, exciting collection that includes much loved sing/dance-a-long classics. Starting off with ‘Agadoo’, ‘I Am The Music Man’ and ‘Do The Conga’ by Black Lace, continuing into ‘Gimme Some’ by Brendon, ‘Y.M.C.A’ by the Village People and several other party essentials before leading into back into Black Lace for ‘Superman’ and party favourtite ‘Hokey Cokey’, a great mix to end the CD with.
