Mastermix Introduce Grandmaster Teenage Kicks
The 70s and 80s were an interesting couple of decades for music. Such varied artists, from ‘punk rockers’ to ‘cheesy popstars’ created an invigorating time for new music, but also meant that for some they were ‘the decades that taste forgot’! Whatever you remember the 70s and 80s for, one thing is for sure, the classics are loved by people of all ages and Mastermix have put together some of the greatest hits of these much loved decades onto one CD, their Grandmaster Teenage Kicks album.
Mastermix producer Jon Hitchen has created this 30 track megamix that includes some of the biggest punk, new wave, rock and ska hits of the late 70s and early 80s. The mix kicks off at a thumping 140 bpm with ‘Teenage Kicks’ by the Undertones and continues to gather momentum before reaching its climatic finale of ‘Town Called Malice’ from The Jam.
Inbetween these well-known tracks there are some that are sure to get the memory going, from the comedic Madness hit ‘Baggy Trousers’ and ‘Turning Japanese’ from The Vapors to the essential teenage anthem ‘Too Much Too Young’ by The Specials. Other ‘retro’ essentials include hits from Dexy's Midnight Runners, Iggy Pop, The Police, Blondie, The Stranglers & Elvis Costello.
The hour long CD from Mastermix is available now priced at £15.32.
