24 Hours Of DJing!
Mobile DJ of 26 years and Denon product demonstrator Gary Job is planning to undertake an impressive DJing feat: playing a non-stop continuous 24 hour set in support of Cancer Research.

Gary’s mammoth DJ set will accompany a sponsored ‘Danceathon’ event that is planned to span the 19th and 20th February 2012 in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The idea of the event is that participants will be sponsored to dance continuously for a set period of time. Some will just take to the floor for half an hour, others are attempting the whole 24 hours.

Initially Gary was asked to provide a short disco to kick-start the Danceathon and then leave a loudspeaker behind so that everyone could dance throughout the remaining hours (and hours) of the event. But being the mobile DJ enthusiast he is, Gary decided to ‘go for it’ and has agreed to DJ for the entire 24 hours.

Commenting on the event Gary said “I was more than happy to provide support for the sponsored dancers, and decided not only to stay awake for the full 24 hours needed of me, but to make sure that those who are dancing for all, or part, of those 24 hours will not just achieve their sponsored number of hours dancing, but actually enjoy them.”

“To ensure that not only myself, but also the music, stays pumping for 24 hours, I'll be using no laptops to provide main audio, just real DJ hardware with thanks going out to Denon DJ and Bose for the loan of some of the best DJ equipment available today. I won’t be using pre-set playlists either, every single track, including live requests from the sponsored dancers will be individually cued up, ready to play manually - throughout the entire, long, 24 hours.”

As well as supporting all of the dancers in their own sponsored efforts, Gary is also hoping to raise £500 for Cancer Research himself. He is looking to fellow DJs, who know what a challenge this will be, to sponsor his epic set.

There are two ways to sponsor Gary’s Danceathon 24 Hour DJ Set:

After sponsoring Gary, you can follow his progress as he’ll be posting updates on his JustGiving page during the Danceathon … if he manages to stay awake enough to make any sense!

So please dig deep everyone and donate now!
