Numark Announces 4TRAK
Numark unveiled their new '4TRAK' at the 2012 NAMM Show, which took place in Anaheim, California, over the last three days. 4TRAK is a four-deck digital DJ controller with a built-in four-channel mixer and comprehensive effects console designed specifically for the Traktor DJ software.
4TRAK is intended by Numark to be the ultimate controller for Traktor software. It lays out a vast array of fully mapped controls for Traktor right in front of the user, putting a playground of capability at DJ's fingertips. 4TRAK can also be used to mix anything, with its built-in four-channel mixer allowing turntables, microphones, MP3 players, and almost anything else to be added into the mix. Each of 4TRAK’s channels has an input selector, so DJs can instantly transition between controlling Traktor's four decks and their external sources.
4TRAK offers extensive control over Traktor’s effects and filters with the expansive 12-knob FX KOMMAND CONSOLE. DJs have access to effect and filter parameters, giving them great performance capabilities. They can layer effects, adjust filters, and mix and match both instantly in ways not possible on previous controllers. 4TRAK's platters feature bi-coloured, rotating LEDs, 3600 ticks of resolution per rotation, automatically adjusting sensitivity, and high-resolution 14-bit MIDI, which combine to provide ultra-precise turntable control. 4TRAK’s layout features mouse-less library navigation, Master Tempo, complete Pitch Control, manual and instant Looping, Hot Cues and more.
“We wanted to give DJs the ultimate performance tool for Traktor,” said Chris Roman, Senior Product Manager at Numark, “this is it — 4TRAK represents the most precise hardware-software integration for Traktor, and it’s built like a tank.”
4TRAK is expected to arrive in the shops within the next few months with an RRP of £799.99.
