SEDA Announce Joint Cover Insurance Policy
SEDA (South Eastern Discotheque Association) have introduced a new Joint Cover Insurance package for their membership. In what has been a long, but necessary, consultative process SEDA have come up with a new industry standard level of Insurance cover for SEDA Members. The Policy includes £10 Million Public Liability, £10 Million Products Liability (Dry Hire) and £10 Million Employer’s Liability cover.
Almost two years ago SEDA were the first DJ association to put Employer’s Liability Cover on the agenda. Chief coordinator and SEDA Chairman Paul Forsyth says, “It was important for us to make sure that our members were covered in this vulnerable, yet never before covered area. Many of our members did not realise that Public Liability would not protect them if an assistant, paid or unpaid, were injured whilst carrying out instructions for the Member.”
Furthermore SEDA is the only association that offers this comprehensive level of cover which is non-compulsory. Paul Forsyth says “The feedback process has been protracted, but we felt that it was important to find out what the Membership wanted, not what we (the Committee) felt it needed.”
Industry leaders Hencilla Canworth Limited have brokered the Policy and Mike McCormack, Director at the company, commented “We are aware of the long and proud history that SEDA have in providing an excellent level of service and benefits to their members and we are delighted to have been able to assist in enhancing this even further with the introduction of Employer’s, Public and Products Liability Insurance cover, which will automatically be provided to all Full Members from 1st June 2011.”
Paul Forsyth added “It is great to see such a positive conclusion to what has been a lot of work for the SEDA team and I am thankful for the support and appreciation that our Membership has given us. My thanks also go to Mike McCormack at Hencilla Canworth Limited who has helped us through this process and who we are proud to have working with us.”
