Introducing the Numark iM9 Mixer

Numark used the US NAMM music industry trade show, which ended today, to introduce the latest edition to their mixer range, the iM9. A professional-grade DJ mixer with integrated effects and a dock for iPod, the iM9 is a feature packed unit that is sure to find its way into many mobile DJs’ rigs.
The iM9 is a four channel mixer that allows DJs to mix CDs, vinyl, iPod, and any other line-level audio sources. Each of the channels is switchable between at least two audio inputs, allowing a plethora of sound sources to be connected. In addition to the main four audio channels, which each feature dedicated three-band EQ control, there is also a dedicated DJ mic channel with talk-over facility. The integrated iPod dock can be used to play tracks straight from an iPod, but can also be used for recording a set.
The unit’s integrated BeatKeeper™ technology automatically detects a song's BPM, allowing for seamless cross-fades from track to track, while the Sync Lock feature ensures that once the beat is locked in between two sources, it’s never lost. The detected BPMs are also used to sychronise the iM9’s unique digital effects processing section. Any of the 10 different digital effects can be manipulated and applied to any channel, including the iPod, or directly to the master output.
“iM9 is a rock-solid mixer ” said Chris Roman, Numark’s Product Development Manager. “With iM9, Numark gives DJs a gig-worthy, professional mixer with effects that can record directly to their iPod without compromise.”
The iM9 will be arriving at your local Numark dealer soon with an expected street price of around £250.
