American DJ Cuts the Cable With Wireless Uplighting

Now you can run your lights ... and run around anywhere you want, on (or off) the stage or the dance-floor. American DJ has introduced two remote control LED colour par cans, PRO38B LED RC and PRO64B LED RC, and two remote control LED colour bars, Mega Bar 50RGB RC and Mega Bar LED RC, which can be operated wirelessly from distances of up to 15’/4m (direct line of sight).

Each of the four fixtures comes packaged with a hand-held wireless infrared American DJ LED RC remote controller that gives users command over functions that would normally require a DMX controller or the operation of an onboard control panel by hand. The controller’s advanced sensor technology goes well beyond the typical Blackout function to give users remote access to a wide array of features – including selection of built-in programs, Auto Run (automatically running through all built-in programs), Strobe Effect, DMX Mode selection, Sound Active Mode selection, and controlling the speed of functions such as strobing and Auto Run. You can even perform RGB colour mixing and DMX addressing remotely from the other side of the room with a push of the controller’s button!

“All you do is aim the infrared remote at the fixture, and total control is at your fingertips,” comments Dirk Kast, General Manager for the American DJ Group Europe. “You can change colours via RGB mixing, change the DMX addressing, or even designate a fixture as a “slave” in a Master/Slave configuration – all from a distance of 15’!”

“Freedom of movement is a growing demand among lighting users today,” added Kast. “Entertainers, DJs, stage performers and production engineers want to be able to move around the room or stage without having to remain in a specific spot to control their lighting. Our new RC LED par cans and colour bars let you have this freedom, while keeping the degree of control you’d expect to have with a DMX controller or onboard control panel.”
