Sell Your Old Gear With DJcarboot.com
Most mobile DJs love gear and are always investing in the latest sound technology and impressive effects, which means that at some point they need to sell off older items. Equipment retailers, and long standing Pro Mobile advertisers, CRS1 have recently set up a new website dedicated to helping DJs sell their unwanted gear.
The idea stems from actual car boot sales, as Clive Hodghton from CRS1 explains: "It all started with us being inundated in the shop with calls from customers trying to clear out their old gear, either to make space or to make way for new. A few years ago we hosted the first actual DJ Car Boot sale in the village hall here in Lacey Green. The event was quite well attended and so we set up a website predominantly for publicising forthcoming sales. However, when customers came into the shop for trade ins/ups, I was finding that I couldn't buy everything (no matter how hard I tried) so I decided to add a new classified part to the website which is still called www.DJcarboot.com.”
The website is now an online portal where anyone can reach the DJ community completely free of charge to sell their unwanted second hand equipment. Unlike generic online auction / second hand sales sites DJ Car Boot is specifically targeted at DJs and there are no costs involved with selling gear through the site. There’s already a collection of gear listed for sale, but as more DJs find out about the site, Clive is sure that it will quickly grow in popularity: "At the moment adverts are a little sparse but with the help of Pro Mobile readers it will become much more popular and, as it is completely free, it's simply a no brainer! Although it is supported and run by us here at Entertainment House/CRS1 we make no profit on it at all, quite simply it is for everyone to benefit and move their gear on!”
