Europe’s leading promo service for DJs and the music industry, CD Pool, have launched the UK’s first ever digital subscription service for DJs. The promotional tool, called ‘Sixpack’, aims to help DJs stay up to date with the latest single releases by providing them with six of the best new tracks released each week.
Covering four key music genres including Chart Hits, Dance 12 Inch, Indie Rock and Urban, ‘Sixpack’ is a new instant digital solution that meets the music acquisition requirements of DJs who are keen to stay updated and in tune with the latest releases hitting the airwaves. Each week, subscribed DJs are emailed information detailing the six tracks – chosen based on pre-release charts and the release schedule, and invited to log into their accounts to download the tracks.
Sixpack also provides label marketing teams with added promotional support in the all important first week of commercial release. Robin Jenkins, head of the new service, commented, “From our direct involvement in physical music promotion and MP3 download stores, we spotted a key area for growth in the current services available to the working DJ. By providing our expertise across the new release landscape on a weekly basis we believe that DJs can really reap the rewards from the knowledge and experience we have accumulated over the past 16 years.”
Formed in 1994, CD Pool was one of the first promo services to anticipate the move towards CD promotion at a time when critics thought DJs would never give up vinyl. The launch of Sixpack sees CD Pool leading the way as it sets a trend towards digital subscription services.
