DJ Gee Papa’s Marathon Sets New World Record at 116 Hours!

Guinness World Records has confirmed that DJ Gee Papa (George Papapetrou) did indeed set a new world record for longest club DJ marathon when he played for a staggering 116 hours at Dot Club in Nicosia, Cyprus this summer.
As previously reported, the Cypriot spinner had an unsuccessful attempt in 2007 and was therefore pinning his hopes on this year’s epic event, which took place between 1st and 6th July. George then had to wait to have his record verified by the ultimate authority on record-breaking achievement, Guinness World Records. However, it’s now clear that he did smash the preceding record of 88 hours - set back in 2006 by Agustin E. Gonzalez Aguilar of Mexico - by an incredible 28 hours!
“It’s a unique and amazing feeling”, reports George, who tells us (as we gasp, amazed) that he would definitely repeat the experience. “As I said at the press conference right after my attempt, even if no one breaks my record, if asked to do it again, for charity, I will do it and break another record at the same time!”
