Visual Productions Launches Cuety iPad Lighting Controller
Visual Productions has launched a new DMX control system dedicated to iPad, giving mobile DJs a forward-thinking lighting control solution specifically for use with their Apple tablets. The long-awaited Cuety iPad lighting control system is a convenient, affordable option for DJs wishing to replace their laptop with a tablet while retaining detailed control.

A new generation of lighting controller, Cuety has been designed to turn the iPad into a powerful lighting console, making it ideal for users, such as mobile DJs, operating in the entry-level entertainment market. Cuety ensures full support for control over moving heads, LEDs, conventional lighting and DMX-controlled special effects, while also enabling DJs to take advantage of the mobility and touch-display offered by the iPad.

DJs wishing to use the Cuety app can do so by connecting the Cuety LPU-1 hardware (which offers an isolated DMX-512 port) to their iPad via wi-fi. This robust hardware contains an engine that will run shows, calculate fade times and render dynamic effects, while the Cuety app acts as an easy-to-operate user-interface. With an in-built effects generator, mobile DJs can create automatic movements, including pan and tilt, colourful RGB effects and various chases.

Thanks to the unique system architecture of the Cutey App and its LPU-1 hardware, there’s no need to worry about losing a wi-fi connection. As the hardware contains the engine that runs the connected light show, it can continue running the last selected chase if connection to the controlling iPad is lost. Alternatively, for standalone installations, any combination of the 64 playbacks can be set to run on ‘power-up’ of the LPU-1. Visual Products also offers Cuety Remote: an iPhone app that lets the user remote control the Cuety LPU-1 by triggering playback buttons.

Despite being designed for tablets, Visual Productions has ensured that mobile DJs can run Cuety on Windows, Mac OS and Ubuntu Linux using fully functional simulators. Cuety is available now for iOS, and will be available for Android from autumn 2015.
