Lamba Announces Gemini Distribution Deal
Lamba PLC, the company behind the popular mobile DJ equipment brand Kam, has announced a new distribution partnership with Gemini DJ, which will bring a range of products to mobile DJs across the UK and Ireland.
In light of the new deal, and with a rejuvenated focus on product development and quality control, Gemini looks toward renewed success in the British Isles. The company has recently launched a range of new products that will now be available from equipment stores in the UK and Ireland distributed by Lamba PLC.
Since starting in the seventies, New Jersey-based Gemini has been one of the pioneers of the DJ industry, having provided quality audio products for mobile DJs, sound engineers and professional installers on an international level, earning itself a reputation for producing affordable, reliable gear.
While Gemini continues to produce DJ controllers, CD/MP3/USB/media players, turntables, digital recorders, mixers, headphones, speakers and power amplifiers, the company actually started out making speakers, before Ike Cabasso (Founder) saw the potential of the DJ market and launched the first Gemini mixer, the DJ-1, in 1974.
Though the company continued to focus on the speaker business, its attention switched to DJ gear with the emergence of disco and rap music. The popularity of these genres saw the demand for DJ equipment soar, and Gemini, having spotted it early, took advantage of the trend. The company signed up GrandMaster Flash to help design a new product, and made a connection to the DJ world that solidified its future reputation as a pioneer. Later, as CDs entered the market, Gemini became known for offering affordable dual-CD players, and over recent years the company has developed a range of DJ MIDI controllers and USB playback devices.
“We are extremely excited to be working with Lamba, fellow industry pioneers, to re-establish Gemini in the UK,” said Ikey Cabasso, Vice President of Sales for Gemini DJ. “We realise that the UK is one of the most important markets in the world for DJ equipment so we are very keen to show off our new and improved product range. We feel that Lamba are exactly the right company to help us bring Gemini back into this incredibly vibrant market.”
