Denon DJ Unveils New MC4000 Controller
Denon DJ has announced a new addition to its MC line of professional controllers. The MC4000 – which debuted at NAMM 2015 in Los Angeles last week – is a 2-deck, Serato MIDI controller that takes in-demand audio manipulation tools and houses them in a compact steel chassis to give mobile DJs a robust controller for use with the popular Serato DJ software.
The controller also makes the most of 100mm pitch faders, touch-activated jog wheels (for accurate cueing) and dedicated hot-cue and sample pads, for mobile DJs that want to discover new territory with on-the-fly creativity. Meanwhile, the controller’s club-style layout allows for a natural feel and simple operation.
With an emphasis on sound quality, Denon DJ has included a premium 24-but audio output path, making for clearer mixes, and two balanced mic inputs, each with 2-band EQ, ‘ducking’ and echo effect. The MC4000 also includes dedicated EQ and FX controllers on each channel, an RCA aux input for external device mixing and balanced ‘main’ and ‘booth’ outputs.
“The MC line has always represented premium features for discerning DJs,” noted Silvio Zeppieri, Denon DJ Product Manager. “The new MC4000 punches well above its weight by including the tools DJs need to drive a memorable event. The layout, portability, audio quality, the inputs and outputs – it’s spot-on for mobile entertainers, and we cannot wait for the world to get their hands on it.”
The MC4000 comes with Serato DJ Intro as standard, but users can easily upgrade to the full Serato DJ at any time. The controller is also compatible with Traktor 2 (via .tsi files) and Virtual DJ 8.
The Denon DJ MC4000 will be available from April at a manufacturer’s suggested selling price of £299.
