Best Wedding DJ Winner Announced at Industry Awards
After a judging process that started back in October 2014, the winners of the Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) were finally unveiled at the national ceremony in London last night (Thursday the 15th of January). The awards – which took place at the Café de Paris in London’s West End – were presented live on stage by TWIA founder Damian Bailey and Isabel Webster of Sky News.
It was Bliss Wedding DJ, an East Midlands-based company, which took home the award for Best Wedding DJ, beating off competition from last year’s winner, Terry Lewis Entertainment, amongst others.
“What a journey! I am humbled that Bliss have won this award, I would like to thank our wonderful brides and grooms for allowing us to be part of their special days and for voting for us. I would also like to thank the TWIA judges for their support,” said David Nazaruk, of Bliss Wedding DJ. “I was thrilled just to be nominated alongside some of my stunning peers, such as Terry Lewis and Mark van den Berg, but to win the national award is so fantastic because it is based on feedback from our brides and grooms, as well as the TWIA judging panel. I am truly proud of the Bliss team and looking forward to helping more brides and grooms in 2015.”
The Wedding Industry Awards were set up to reward the outstanding efforts of wedding DJs, alongside bridal retailers, photographers, caters, venues and other wedding professionals. However, through the public votes, they also give clients an opportunity to voice their opinions and reward their favourite suppliers.
After the initial stage of personal applications and public testimonials back in 2014, regional winners in each category were chosen by industry panels. These regional winners were then invited to last night’s national awards ceremony in London.
“All of the regional winners had put together great entries and had glowing testimonials from many past brides, so choosing one national winner was incredibly difficult – all of the nominees were very deserving,” explained Eddie Short, Pro Mobile editor and member of the judging panel for Best Wedding DJ. “David’s application did, however, stand out as both eloquent and heart-felt; he clearly runs a very professional business that puts delivering fantastic services to wedding couples at its very heart. The feedback from past clients was also consistently exceptional, with brides and grooms picking out specific ways in which Bliss Wedding DJ had surpassed their expectations of a DJ service.”
A full list of national winners and other award-winning suppliers can be found on the Wedding Industry Awards website. Entries for the 2016 awards will begin to be accepted from May 2015.
