Kam Introduces New KWM Quartet Wireless Mic System
DJ equipment manufacturer Kam has released its latest UHF wireless microphone system – the KWM Quartet. A set comprised of four hand-held, wireless, rechargeable radio mics and a four-channel modular receiver, the new kit enables mobile DJs to use up to four microphones all at once at a distance of up to 100m.
The KWM Quartet’s lightweight (3.8kg) 19 inch rack-mountable receiver is fitted with LEDs indicating Power, RF and AF for each of the four channels, as well as individual volume controls. Four balanced XLR outputs, one 1/4 inch jack output and a USB port are fitted in the rear of the receiver, giving users multiple options for audio output and allowing them to charge two mics at any one time via the included dual-USB charger. With a charge up time of five hours, mobile DJs working all-day events can be charging two mics while the others are in use, ensuring that they always have at least two mics to hand.
Furthermore, each of the receiver channels is colour-coded to match the microphones, which each have a coloured plastic base. This makes identifying and adjusting the mics in accordance to the respective channels much easier; a unique selling point for when mobile DJs are hiring out the kit to customers with little knowledge of audio equipment. Kam has also given each mic a three-way switch with on, off and mute settings, and an LED to indicate whether the microphone is on (red) and fully charged (green).
Mobile DJs will also be pleased that the mics are battery-powered and totally wireless, permitting DJs to use them without the restriction of wires at distances up to 100m. With a dual squelch circuit in place, users can also avoid unwanted noise and unpleasant feedback, giving their guests a more noise-free and enjoyable audio experience.
The Kam KWM Quartet is available now and comes with a three year warranty.
