CHAUVET DJ Introduces Unique Intimidator Wave IRC
CHAUVET DJ recently released the latest addition to its Intimidator series – the Intimidator Wave IRC. An eye-catching new moving head unit, the Intimidator Wave IRC combines five independently-controlled moving heads into one compact fixture to create an array of moving beam effects.
With user-selectable tilt ranges (of 90-, 180-, and 270-degrees) and tight 5-degree beam angles, mobile DJs can now project narrow beams of light exactly where they need them – either as a scatter effect or in more fluid wave-like motions. Each head contains a bright 12-watt quad-colour (RGBW) LED, allowing smooth colour mixing for an increased colour choice, while strobe effects will also come in handy for mobile DJs looking to step the party up a gear for the latter parts of an evening reception.
The Intimidator Wave IRC allows the user to run four fixtures in a Master/Slave configuration and run the same in-built programs across all of them – creating impressive, coordinated wave effects running across a total of twenty heads. So, even mobile DJs just starting out can easily utilise the powerful effects on offer without the need for complex programming. With four fixtures, users can easily cover a dance-floor or fill a small-medium sized venue with narrow beams – looking great used in conjunction with fog or haze. With DMX (offering a choice of 14- and 34-channel modes), Automatic, and Sound Active modes to choose from, users can easily create synchronized shows using whichever mode suits their needs best.
The fixture can also be controlled using the separately sold IRC-6 remote (for wireless non-DMX control) and a control panel on the unit, complete with colour LCD screen, allows easy mode selection and DMX addressing. What’s more, up to 13 units can be power linked at 230-volts, for the convenience of mobile DJs looking to save time on running cables.
