Children In Need Rocks Line-up Announced
American crooner Barry Manilow joins the likes of The Lumineers, Tom Odell and The Wanted in the line-up for this year’s BBC Children In Need Rocks concerts.
The event, which is comprised of two concerts curated by Gary Barlow, will also include Rizzle Kicks, Robbie Williams and Ellie Goulding. The aim of the concerts is to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Manilow (pictured below) discussed the forthcoming event, “I have known Gary from early Take That days when they re-recorded my hit ‘Could it be Magic’ in 1992. We have remained friends and I am thrilled he asked me to be a part of this great BBC Children in Need Rocks night. I have been proud to support BBC Children in Need for many years as it's a truly wonderful cause that does great work for children and young people in the UK. See you there on the night."
Gary Barlow added, "We are in for a fantastic couple of nights with lots of amazing artists and some very exciting collaborations. I can't wait to get up on stage for a few numbers too, it's all for a great cause." The event will take place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London, on the 12th and 13th of November and be presented by Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton. “I am honoured to be hosting the Rocks concerts alongside Fearne”, Chris enthused, “Gary certainly knows how to put on a show, so I think guests and viewers will be in for a very special couple of evenings, a real treat!"
