Native Instruments to Launch TRAKTOR KONTROL S5
Native Instruments has announced the release of TRAKTOR KONTROL S5 – a new all-in-one DJ system that will make it easier for mobile DJs to get creative with their mixing and appeal to younger audiences using the latest DJ technology.
Boasting a compact size and solid construction, the new TRAKTOR KONTROL S5 from Native Instruments combines familiar hardware control, a fluid touch-and-see workflow and Stems-compatibility for a modern DJ experience, allowing mobile DJs to take their sets to the next level at the events they play.
The TRAKTOR KONTROL S5 builds on the hardware design made popular by the KONTROL S4, combining modern technology with a user-intuitive, portable format. The system’s mixer section features key elements, including four channels (with EQ and filter controls) and FX assigns, while the touch-sensitive controls bring up smart views, performance modes and pop-up panels across two full-colour displays.
For those mobile DJs that like to remix music for their younger audiences, the TRAKTOR KONTROL S5's deck types also switch intelligently to match the track, Stem (the open audio format for creative DJing) file, or remix set being loaded into the included software. Live remixing is smooth: loops can be captured from a running track and instantly sampled, while cueing, nudging or seeking through tracks is made simple with motion-sensitive touch strips. In order to really impress younger crowds, mobile DJs can make the most the system’s Stem View and have control over volume, filter and effect, routing individual stems to create spontaneous acapellas, instrumentals and mixes.
The TRAKTOR KONTROL S5’s built-in 24-bit/48kHz audio interface features both XLR and RCA master outputs, as well as a ¼-inch booth output that lets users connect the unit to any type of sound system. Especially useful for mobile DJs, particularly those also acting as MCs, the stand-alone RCA or ¼-inch AUX channel input can be used for connecting a mic, MP3 player or any other line-level device.
In terms of practicality, the TRAKTOR KONTROL S5 is compact, robust and features on-board connectivity, making it an ideal unit for taking on the road as part of a professional setup. Measuring to the same size as the popular TRAKTOR KONTROL S4, the new system can also still be protected during transport using the S4/S5 Flightcase.
The TRAKTOR KONTROL S5 will be available at an SSP of £579 from the 1st of October 2015.
