Pro Mobile Conference 2018
What to expect if you’ve already booked
And why you should book now if you haven’t!

The 2018 Pro Mobile Conference is now just around the corner – taking place on Sunday the 15th and Monday the 16th of April – and we’re very pleased to be able to report that significantly more DJs have already booked this year than attended any of the previous Conferences. If you’re one of those DJs, this article will give you a flavour of what to expect during the two days. However, there are still a few more places available. So, if you’ve not booked yet, hopefully these next few pages will convince you to make the decision to join us.

The theme for this year’s Conference is ‘Bring On The Blue Skies’, which may sound a little cheesy but was the best way we could sum up what the event is all about. We want to invite you to take two days out from working in your mobile DJ business and spend that time working on your business. We want to help you look past where your business is now to where you want it to be and, with the help of guest speakers from both inside and outside the industry, put plans in place to get there.

It doesn’t matter if you’re relatively new to mobile DJing and need to build up your business or if you’ve been in the game for years and are starting to plan for your retirement (or if you’re anywhere in between). Over the two days you’ll be inspired to set targets for moving forward and pick up new ideas and learn techniques to help you achieve them. This could be about improving your performance or service; attracting more clients; increasing the amount you charge; scaling up your business; or any number of other things. However you’d like to see your DJ business grow or improve, the Conference’s inspirational and supportive environment will be the ideal place to define your goals and set you on the path to seeing them fulfilled.

What to expect

For those who haven’t attended the Conference before, the prospect can be a little daunting. While you have no problem performing in front of an audience of hundreds, the idea of spending two full days in a hotel Conference suite with 100+ fellow DJs may be a big step outside your comfort zone, especially if you don’t know anyone else who is attending. However, based on what past delegates have told us, there really is nothing to worry about. Within minutes of arriving, you’ll be put at ease and find yourself naturally drawn into friendly conversation with other attendees. They’ll be interested to find out who you are and open in sharing the concepts and ideas that work in their DJ businesses.

This year’s Conference will take place in a new venue – the Village Hotel in Solihull near Birmingham – which is centrally-located and a perfect, modern setting for the event. When you first arrive you’ll be greeted by the smiling faces of the Pro Mobile office team, who will sign you in and give you a personalised name badge and welcome pack. They’ll also be on hand throughout the whole two days, happy to answer any questions or queries you may have.

After you’ve grabbed a coffee and met a few of the other delegates, it will be time to take your seat in the main Conference room for the start of the action-packed two day programme of inspirational presentations and workshops. Mark Walsh will act as host throughout the event, introducing each of our guest speakers and also sharing his own tips and ideas. There’ll be lots of useful information shared from the stage, as well as opportunities to apply the ideas and principles to your own situation and discuss them with other attendees. You can also expect a couple of more practical sessions in smaller groups and, although you’ll never be asked to do something you don’t want to, you may be encouraged to step a little further out of your comfort zone!

Throughout each day, regular breaks will provide opportunities for refreshments and more informal networking. In the breakout space next to the Conference room, the sponsors of the event will also be on hand to showcase their latest products as well as to offer technical ideas and advice. There will also be longer breaks each day for lunch, which will provide another opportunity for getting to know the other DJs in attendance, pick up new ideas and perhaps share a few of your own.

In the evening there will also be a chance to get ‘suited and booted’ for the Pro Mobile Gala Dinner. This social event will include a three course dinner as well as the presentation of the first annual Pro Mobile Awards. In the past this has been a real highlight of the Conference, allowing delegates the opportunity to get to know each other a little better in a relaxed environment.
